They are made out of cornstarch which is compostable and takes 24-36 months to breakdown.

What are the toothpaste tubes made out of?
It is made from Aluminum Barrier Laminate (ABL) and is produced by a packaging supplier that is certified in eco-friendly products.
What is the travel bag made out of?
The bags are made out of Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) and feels like velvet. EVA is one of the least harmful synthetic materials. With optimal combustion, only CO2 and H2O are released, so thermal recycling can be done, and is similar to that of oil. So you can say that EVA is a rather environmentally friendly plastic.
Honestly, I hadn’t heard of them before I was contacted by their PR department. Before I said yes, I did my research, which I always do. If you didn’t already know, I will not partner with a company if I wouldn’t use the products myself nor if they don’t align with my beliefs. This company does hands down does both.
At first, I was a little skeptical because seriously, how can a company even make their products and packaging eco-friendly? Well, Grin does and they are badass!
I have been testing the toothbrush, the dental floss picks (above), the floss, the toothpaste, and the tongue scraper; I am absolutely obsessed with all of it.
Lately my mind has been on bettering this planet, to not only have it best for the current population but getting back to the mindset of leaving everything better than we find out. As we are all aware we are in a Global Warming crisis and getting to the point that if we don’t start acting now, we won’t be able to come back from it.
I recently wrote an article about being a responsible traveler, which outlines eight easy ways to do that. #5 and #6 was specifically about using products just like these; leave no waste and watch your footprint. What if we all just start doing out part, little by little and day by day? That will absolutely make an impact. Yes you are just one person, but the collective we can change the world!
On that note, we definitely need to think about using products that are eco-friendly and ditch the single-use products that are made out of that yucky plastic. Grin does just that! The “single-use” toothpicks are bio-degradable and you know what, I don’t feel guilty using them! That right there, says it all.
You know where it starts? At home! Oral health care and taking care of our planet is super important and I think it is something that we take for granted. I was fortunate enough to grow up with parents who taught me that it is important and unfortunately not everyone is that lucky.
As they say, there is no time like the present. Grin also has a children’s line which means you get to not only teach them about the benefits of oral health, but you get to use products that are good for them and for the planet; a double-dose of good things!
What are the ingredients in the children’s line?
Organic Calendula Oil, Organic Sea Salt, Organic Aloe Leaf Extract, and packed with real fruit flavors to leave young teeth naturally fresh and squeaky clean.
Most importantly, there is none of this:
Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS); artificial colors, flavors, or fragrances; propylene glycol; artificial preservatives like EDTA, formaldehyde, parabens, etc.; artificial sweeteners or saccharin, or hydrogen peroxide.
Don’t forget to use code MYRBFLIFE for a discount on all of these great products! I promise, you won’t be disappointed!
