Over the last few years, we have come to understand the concept of being alone in a new way. Thanks to social distancing, a lot of people found themselves very alone. Some people hated every moment of it with their being. Others embraced the feeling of stillness.
If you are one of the people who enjoy the quiet, here are some places to spend your holiday time alone.
Vacation: Four Ways to Spend Your Break Alone
The Quiet Getaway

If you love the idea of being alone, but don’t want to travel far, then you need a quiet getaway. This does not have to be far away. It just needs to be removed enough to give you some peace.
Imagine staying in a Venice Beach hotel by yourself and enjoying the quiet instead of the rush to work. Plan a quiet break away from it all in a place that is relaxed and that you can relax. This is the chance to put your feet up and enjoy your own company.
The Countryside

We know there are a few people out there that are lucky enough to have holiday homes around the world but have you considered having one nearby? There are a lot of quiet places in the countryside that have old houses. These run-down places are perfect for redoing and having a quiet place in the countryside.
If you are handy with the tools, you could head down at the weekends and spend your time fixing the place up. This is the ultimate DIY project to do by yourself, for yourself.
Exploring Your Town

Have you ever had a good look around where you live? Most people haven’t and this is kind of sad. Our own hometowns tend to have a lot of history that we don’t consider interesting because we grew up knowing about it.
However, if you treat your town like a tourist, you will be surprised by the fun things that you will discover around the place. So get those walking shoes on, make sure your phone is charged for photos, and head off down the street. You could also buy a few guidebooks to see if there is anything that you have missed in your town that tourists find interesting.
Learning Weekend

These weekends tend to pop up for people who want to advance their careers as part of a team-building exercise, but there are plenty of opportunities to get yourself on these types of courses. Weekend learning courses are a great way to dive into learning a subject.
There are a lot of different ones to choose from. Writing workshops tend to be a favorite of people who want to advance their writing career but don’t have time to take part in a full time writing course. As a general rule, these courses will have other people at them but you don’t need to take a friend with you. In fact, you would be better off leaving your friends at home so that you can concentrate on what is happening in the course.
Which one of these four ways to getaway are you venturing to first?
As a solo traveler lover, I think I will venture into exploring my city first. Or, maybe I need a quiet getaway! Ahh, they all sound so inviting!
I can’t wait to hear where you are going next! Tell me in the comments!
