Everyday How-to I am me Self-care Self-love Simple Uncategorized

Show yourself a little love!

Self-care is important, whether it is something we do once a week or daily. Personally, I like to do something everyday to tell myself that I am worthy, I am enough, I am beautiful, I am strong, and I am important.

You too are worthy, enough, beautiful, handsome, strong, and important. You are you, and that is your superpower.

Our lives are busy; we are wives, mothers, daughters, sons, husbands, employees, entrepreneurs, gym goers, travelers, and the list goes on and on. Yet, we seem to not schedule in, even an hour a day, to make sure we are healthy and taken care of in order to live these busy lives.

Consequently, we feel burned out and that takes a toll on everything and everyone around us. Which means, enough is enough! It is time we put self-care at the top of the list; when we are feeling our best, everything and everyone around us flourishes.

I came up with a list of 50 ways that you can show yourself a little love and these are things I love to do myself.

  1. There are some good ideas on this list! I am a fan of burning candles personally. Today I took me time while the little man napped and just sat on the front steps to my house with some tea and my poetry journal soaking in some sunshine. 😊 After I was so much more motivated to sweep and mop which I was overdue to do haha.

    1. Thank you! I love the idea of just sitting on the porch, taking in some sunshine and then getting back to our chores. I think people sometimes lose sight of what self-love; it doesn’t have to be a drawn out process, but little things every day make us feel better and do better!

      1. Exactly! And when I’m dragging myself around doing housework I do tend to forget the value of a small break. Too long breaks my flow, but when you’re just not feeling something stepping away for a bit does wonders.

      2. Yes, just a small little break does wonders! I do it at work too…I will go take a walk, do something not pertaining to my work, etc., just to get my flow back! The little things really do matter; all of these things are self-love, self-care. When we get burnt out, we don’t perform our best.
